Tara Feeney
Role:
Deputy President: The DP deputises for the President when he is sick or unavailable, attends Governing Authority with the President and as a result keeps in close contact with the work of the President.
Welfare Officer: The role of Welfare Officer is to help with all the non-academic problems you may face throughout college - mental health, sexual awareness, crisis pregnancy, financial and accommodation issues. She is also available for a chat if you’re just feeling a bit overwhelmed by college life. The Welfare Officer allocates financial aid to students who find money is tight in association with the Chaplain and is generally here to help with problems that pop up from time to time. If Tara can’t help you, she’ll know someone who can, or at least find out who can.
Bio:
Tara is22 and originally from Mayo. She is the middle child of five siblings. After leaving cert Tara went to Galway for a year where she completed a portfolio in Art and Design, after which she decided Art wasn’t for her and entered the Arts Joint Honours programme at UL. She has just completed her four year degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Throughout her studies, Tara has had ample opportunity to travel and see the world. She spent the summer of first year on a J1 in Santa Barbara, California an, during third year, studied for a semester at the University of Copenhagen. Tara is a bubbly and friendly person and can’t wait for the coming year!
