UPDATED Thomond still affected by water cuts off
posted 23rd NovDue to a problem with the sewerage the water supply to Thomond has been affected for the next 24hours. Students are not allowed to shower in their apartment. Residents of Thomond Village can use the showering facilities of the Arena for free until the situation has been resolved. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the Arena from 7pm – 10pm and from 7am – 12 midday, the bus will run every half hour. The flushing of toilets is now permitted.
Additional water is available from the Village Reception for cooking or drinking as the tap water is not suitable for ingestion.
Students have been advised not to be concerned about the potential of flooding as Thomond Village is designed not to flood. Plassey Campus Services has stressed that the village is not currently flooded and that the water has been turned off as a precautionary measure against issues with the sewerage pipes.
We will keep you posted on any further developments.
