Non-Sabbat Nominations open
posted 25th JanNominations for the position of Community Relations Officer (CRO) and Equality Officer opened this morning, January 25 at 9am. Nominations forms can be obtained from SU Reception and must be returned by 5pm on Friday, January 29 with a €40 deposit.
According to the ULSU Constitution, the CRO must research and co-ordinate specific projects with a view to improving links and relations with all sectors of the University while also liaising with any committees, working parties or authorities dealing with Community Relations. The CRO also sits on the Executive, Class Reps Council and Community Forum.
The Equality Officer shall advise and aid in the development of the Union’s Equality Policy, be familar with the affairs of groups on campus and shall also represent the interests of the members in matters relating to equal rights.
Both Non-Sabbatical Officers are expected to complete 20 hours of work each week and must also attend Class Reps Council every second week, and Executive every week, as well as attending additional meetings relating to their position. Officers who fail to do so will be deemed resigned.
Every student is entitled to run for the positions. Nomination forms are available from SU Reception between 9am and 11pm, Mondau – Thursday and on Friday between 9am – 5pm. Forms can also be returned during these times.
