Exam Checklist
posted 04th DecWith the exams looming next week it can be easy to forget some basic things when it comes to the actual exam. Remember this checklist before each exam.
DO NOT leave for your exam without:
- ID Card (you can’t sit your exam without it!)
- Pens/Pencils/Erasers
- Bottle of water
- Calculator/Dictionary/any other permitted material
BEFORE the exam
- Make sure you have everything you need
- Eat a good breakfast/lunch/dinner to keep your energy and concentration up
- Make sure you have no writing on your hands. Even something as simple as a room number written on your hand could see you called in front of the Discipline Committee which you really don’t want. Trust us.
DURING the exam
- Make sure your desk is clear of everything that is not permitted. That means no phones, no scrap paper, no post-its, no lucky mascots; just your pens, additional permitted material, your ID card and a bottle of water.
- Put your hand up straight away and ask for rough work paper so you can jot down ideas without messing your transcript!
- Read the entire paper before you start answering. There might be questions that you can answer better at the end of the paper.
- Check how much time you have for the exam and how many questions you must do. You might have to answer more/less questions or you may have more/less time than you realise.
- Write down everything that comes to mind for a question on the rough work. This might help you remember more information.
- Don’t rush through all short questions and be careful with multiple choice questions. Leave the harder questions to the end and use any time you saved on the easier questions on the hard ones.
- Attempt everything
Most importantly, stay calm and don’t panic. Good luck and we’ll see you in the New Year!
